Made of Titanium
Innovate Orthopaedic’s Quick-Start screw is a titanium interference screw with a unique tip design which rapidly engages bone and tissue for fixation in a variety of surgical applications. The Quick-Start screw was designed by leading surgeons to address current challenges encountered in interference screw fixation.
Indications
- The Quick-Start screw is indicated for ACL reconstruction for both Femur and Tibia fixation
- The Quick-Start screw is indicated for PCL reconstruction for both Femur and Tibia fixation
- The Quick-Start screw is indicated for PLC repair or reconstruction for both Femur and Fibular Head fixation
- The Quick-Start screw is indicated for MCL repair or reconstruction for both Femur and Tibia fixation
- The Quick-Start screw is indicated for MPFL repair or reconstruction
Accessories
- NITINOL GUIDEWIRE 1.8MM – The guidewire is designed to be flexible yet stiff enough to allow directional insertion.
- SCREWDRIVER – The Quick-Start Screws require a standard 3.5mm Hex-head screwdriver for insertion.
How does it work
The Quick-Start interference screw is used to provide the compressive force needed for fixation of soft tissue to bone or bone-to-bone applications in a surgical repair. The surgeon prepares the bone for receiving the surgeon’s preferred graft. The graft is prepared and placed into the prepared repair site. The surgeon fixes the first end of the graft with an appropriately sized Quick-Start screw or complementary fixation method. The surgeon then applies appropriate tension to the repair and uses a second Quick-Start interference screw to complete the reconstruction construct.
The final decision on the screw implant size is determined by the surgeon, taking into consideration the type of graft tissue, size of the graft tissue, bone quality and strength needed to fixate the repair construct.
Example Sizing Rational
- B-PT-B bone block: femur – 6mm or 7mm x 20mm; bone block tibia – 8mm x 25mm;
- Soft tissue: femur – 7mm or 8mm x 25mm; tibia – 1-2mm larger diameter than the tunnel in normal bone, and up to 3mm larger diameter in softer bone.
